I decided to watch this after reading the thread.

Good movie. (Spoilers)

I did think it faltered when he walked in on her becoming octopus-scorpion woman. The movie had a tremendous amount of realism attached to it and he walks in on that shite. I had a hard time believing that he wouldn't have bolted and flown back to America.

I also worry about this movie's refusal to follow a conventional formula. While I am definitely open to movies taking risks, this one's true inciting incident didn't occur until 31 minutes into the film. That's an extremely long time to get things going and if I hadn't read a little bit about this movie beforehand, I may have lost interest.
