I really don't know what to expect next season.
The entire series thus far has centered around Spartacus trying to get revenge for the capture and slaying of his wife.
I think next season will center around Spartacus and his gang defending themselves against similar legions as the one Glabber commanded. I just expect the writers to be more creative than just repeating the same story line
Does anyone think they will attack the city of Rome?

They've stayed fairly true to the limited accounts of the RL Spartacus. So no.

Great last episode for this season.
I'm thinking they will free more slaves to build a larger army and obviously be confronted by more legions commanded by a Roman officer we haven't seen yet. Per Wiki:
================================================
In the spring of 72 BCE, the slaves left their winter encampments and began to move northward. At the same time, the Roman Senate, alarmed by the defeat of the praetorian forces, dispatched a pair of consular legions under the command of Lucius Gellius Publicola and Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus Clodianus.[25] The two legions were initially successful—defeating a group of 30,000 slaves commanded by Crixus near Mount Garganus[26]—but then were defeated by Spartacus. These defeats are depicted in divergent ways by the two most comprehensive (extant) histories of the war by Appian and Plutarch.[27][28][29][30]
Alarmed by the apparently unstoppable rebellion, the Senate charged Marcus Licinius Crassus, the wealthiest man in Rome and the only volunteer for the position, with ending the rebellion. Crassus was put in charge of eight legions, approximately 40,000–50,000 trained Roman soldiers,[31][32] which he treated with harsh, even brutal, discipline, reviving the punishment of unit decimation.

decimated troops who ran in battle. Every tenth soldier is killed, other nine do the killing.
Crassus always depicted for being wealthy but he was a pretty damn good general. See the Roman Civil War between Sulla and Carbo.

It was time. Story had to move. Hard to see how Glauber and Lucretia had a place once they engage the actual legions or Rome. Glauber would've been disgraced or thrown off of the rock. Lucretia, no place for her really. I actually applaud the scriptwriters for being ballsy and killing off several of the main characters. Shows they are more about telling the story than protecting the cast.

Agree. The whole episode was outstanding but those last few scenes were epic.

I swear after onomaeus went down I said "frickin get em gannicus!" then I fist pumped a "frick yeah" when the egyption went down. He was a mean looking mother fricker though.

JuSt finished the finale.
I don't think I have ever yelled "frick YEAH!" so many times in a show.

My ONE critique was the way glabber died. And it wasn't even a big deal, just wish he would have went out a more graphic way. Again, I wasn't displeased, just expected a tad more. But the line about being on his knees was money.
Asher getting axed in the nuts then having his head literally chopped off was great. I liked that better than if he would have had head removed in a single blow.

they were definitely ballsy
I never expected them to kill off that many of the cast members.

had to. Story on roman side is bigger than the current cast when it moves to Rome and across Italy.

What if Lucretia fell to her death, but somehow her cushioning the babies fall...baby lives...someone finds it...Spartacus has to get his baby back....
Extremely far fetched, but you never know
Her fall could have been a short one, like she landed on a little plateau right beneath
Cuz that is Spartacus seed!
