I don't think that was proven. And I thought last week's episode was funny. But the ending was week. They killed Kyle's character.
And although I did think it was funny, I still think the show is on a decline.

Breesus. You and I have been down this road before. You think the quality has dropped off and Matt and Trey don't care anymore, that 6 days to air limits the plots/jokes/writng, yet you really have high regards for the Trey Parker and think he would benefit from other endeavors (or writing process).
You feel SP is phoned in these days and don't like anything they do anymore. It's fine and your opinion is your opinion.
I just happen to disagree and think the guys are in top form , maybe not their prime obviously, but the show is still high quality, still relevant, and still unique on the television landscape.
Do I think the recent seasons can hold up to past GOAT seasons? No. But I do think the current ones are brilliant and I love the ultra current scathing SP view of the news and current events.
I just feel you have your mind made up and SouthPark could have an epic "glory" episode and you would still poke holes in it because you're entire view has been skewed. You mentioned that the guys don't enjoy the show anymore and cited recent interviews, yet in the last thread someone posted 3 separate interviews, one as current as 2 months ago, clearly stating Trey and Matt love the show, would be lost without it, and certainly enjoy doing it. They even went as far as calling SP "the band" and each season as an album.
I have (and will continue to) engaged discussion with you and we have had good ones but it's starting to feel like you are so dead set on the old seasons being so good that you are not giving these current episodes an actual chance because you are comparing them to the glory days by default.

They aren't even scathing anymore. Outside of Jenner running over two people they've barely even been rude to anyone.
They might be heading down some plot path that'll take a season to get to, but that's what made south Park great. Each episode was something fresh and new and different. Now they just seem tame and complacent. We'll see how this season goes, but it doesn't look good.

This is fricking spot on.
He goes into the episodes "wanting" to like them, but expecting them to suck. In many ways, his mind is made up beforehand and they have no chance. It's the same reason he "ate crow" in week one, because he was shitting all over this season before a single episode had aired.
