I really did not enjoy the book. The cast looks amazing, so I'm going to give it another shot, but... ugh. I don't get people's love for it.
It's not for everyone. I would say give Gaiman another shot by reading either Never where or The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Both are shorter and a bit lighter. Ocean is my favorite book of his. It is spectacular what he can do in so short a book. His imagination is boundless.

Stunning piece of work. This and Graveyard Book are absolute must reads. Both stick with you for a long time.
Good Omens is my personal favorite of all his novels. That's some funny shite there

Makes me smile just thinking about it

I read it because its Gaiman. Sandman is a matserpiece. But honestly, I've never enjoyed anything he's done half as much as that.
I'm thrilled for his success, though. Seems like the kind of guy who deserves every good thing that's come his way.

Yeah. Tough to say if he is or not, but I love his interviews and his readings. He comes across genuine and kind. His graduation speech about making good art is fricking amazing. I have the phrase "make good art" on a post it on the back of my phone. I read it probably hourly just to remind myself what I'm really doing in the long run
