And I can't help but feel the MCU is becoming too improbable...even for comic book standards.

While the show is good, you're telling me that someone as powerful as Kilgrave isn't on SHIELD's radar? Coulson, May, and co. should have already swooped down on this guy. He's done enough throughout New York City to warrant plenty of attention from interested parties abroad.

Of all the problems with the show, this is the one you go for?

I'm only 5-6 episodes in. Give me a break.

SHIELD is still fractured. Between the events of The Winter Soldier, the internal power struggle between Gonzales and Coulson, the events in Sokovia, the Terrigen fish oil outbreak, and the continued presence of HYDRA through a member of the World Council (Malick), SHIELD has their hands full.

It's not unreasonable to think that they could have missed an event happening in New York City that took place over the course of a month. Kilgrave's actions were not so widespread that they affected more than about 100 people.

Kilgrave had been operating for at least two years before the events of season one of Jessica Jones.

He "abducted" Jessica around the time of the events of Winter Soldier.

To be fair, he was extremely careful, kept a low profile AND has the ability to make people forget everything they saw. It isn't a stretch to think he was able to stay off the grid completely. Especially given how he worked. He can create a murder scene on his own and leave no trace to wipe away any evidence.

I watched half of episode one ut it's just not my kind of thing. But I'm not big into comics so maybe that's why. Green Arrow is pretty dope!

He's low profile.

He works on a personal level, generally torturing one person at a time.

I've lost a bit of interest in the show and haven't seen past episode 7.

But isn't Kilgrave obsessed with Jones? He's not exactly looking for world domination. Seems like he's a sick frick with an infatuation with a girl and he just so happens to have a superpower to help him get to her.

They've also established that Kilgrave can't do too much at once and that he has to re-up his mind control of each victim in person regularly. It's not like he can just shout from the top of a building for everyone in NYC to become his killing machines.

You need to keep watching.
JJ is fantastic.
I enjoy Green Arrow but JJ is next Level to me and Kilgrave is the bomb.

Meh, doesn't bother me. I really enjoyed the show, particularly the second half of it. And Kilgrave is one of my favorite villains ever.

I mean that's kind of what makes him so scary-- he's a world class threat but he's too petty to rise to be more than and a thug.

the only thing that really would have put him on SHIELD's radar is the stuff that happens in the last few episodes.

up until then the most anyone knows about him outside of those he controls is that a few people blamed him for their mistakes/crimes/actions w/absolutely no evidence to back it up.

the guy doesn't care to dominate the world so he doesn't really make big moves that would draw attention.

never mind that SHIELD has been kind of occupied w/keeping the terrigen outbreak quiet, chasing down inhumans like Lash, and rescuing people from planets on the other side of the universe.

He's not on their radar maybe because he only acts for himself. He has the power to enslave humanity, yet he uses it for selfish reasons.

Best villain in that universe so far, in my eyes. When you look at all the things he does, and see how easily he does them, great villain.

Didn't really like Jessica though. Patsy on the other hand
