So I watched Dear John tonight (spoilers)

Don't ask me why, It was on and I thought it was a war movie. Basically, Jody gets the girl, then gets a fatal disease and Joe heroically ends up paying for his medical treatment. Joe does get the girl in the end, at least that's implied in the last scene. Chicks probably loved it, but I found it to be a very unsatisfying film all the way around.

i watched it a while back when i was in an amanda seyfried phase. and yea. went into it with no expectations but the ending is very unsatisfying

Terrible movie but I suffered through it terrible ending I agree. It was a better war movie than Hurt locker so it's got that going for it.

Would you watch a chick flick that turns the genre on it's head and it turns into something completely different by the last act?

I always get this one mixed up with the one where Robert Pattinson died during 9/11. And it had Claire from Lost.

Has there ever been a bigger case of "this movie is a bore and we know it so, uh, here's the country's greatest tragedy of all time and maybe now it'll elicit an emotional response that you'll mistake for being from the movie instead of playing on the feelings from that day"?
