I watched 15-20 minutes of Jack and Jill and turned it off. It's insulting to compare it to Grown-Ups. Grown-Ups is funny and has some heart. Jack and Jill was a bad acid trip by Sandler.

Y'all do realize that sandler has 7 of the top 50 highest grossing comedy films of all time.
Why would a studio not market, produce, and release a sandler film when it could be a high grossing film.
In retrospect most of the other films have actors that are not marquee anymore or no longer do comedy as much.
The others are Murphy, Jim Carey, Kevin James, Ferrell, and Martin.
Y'all do realize that sandler has 7 of the top 50 highest grossing comedy films of all time.
Why would a studio not market, produce, and release a sandler film when it could be a high grossing film.

Maybe out of some weird compulsion to put out a quality product. But that's the only reason, and that one isn't good enough for them.

I have heard from a few people who went and saw it that it was actually funny and better than Sandler's last movies.
The critics ratings and the user reviews on rotten tomatoes have a pretty big difference (Still only a 67 from users). I havent seen one with that much disparity in a long time. I think the critics may be just thinking its the cool thing to hate Sandler movies now.
Full disclosure - I think Jack and Jill was one of the worst movies ever made.

The user ratings on RT are, for all intents and purposes, an absolute joke. A film has to be incredibly awful in order for it to get a rotten from them, and it almost never gets it when its first released.

Not every movie has to be a masterpiece.
People are just looking to be entertained, I'm sure Grown Ups 2 does that for most people.

idk why people use this as an excuse for putting out crap. I think the point of the thread is most being 99% of the people aren't entertained by at least the first one, it was completely a joke.

it's not that it's just the worst movie of all time (which it's up there), my problem with it is that they get all these big names and basically sell a movie off that. it would be like if apple hyped up a new iphone and then when it came out it was empty. it's fraud.

I took it as a handful of guys who do comedy and are friends making a movie that was pretty funny and family friendly.
You are obviously pretty angry about it. Just watch something different.
