I didn't see the movie yet, but Chapman was never an Indians manager, I believe he was in Philly. Robinson being a NL would have never played Cleveland, in fact the Indians were the first AL team with a black player, Larry Doby.

Chapman was a notorious bench jockey, he would call Hank Greenberg a kike, DiMaggio a dago, and even made fun a player's child who was disabled.

In a twist of irony Chapman was traded from the Yankees to the Senators for Jake Powell. Powell would go on WGN radio and say that during the offseason he like to crack n***ers over the head with his nightstick as a police officer in Dayton.
