I've recently binge watched a lot of Black Mirror and Westworld lately. It got me thinking about most of sci fi as a whole and the ideas of machines becoming aware. Is there any schow or movie that takes the concept that machines will be aware and moves past that?

For example, does anything deal with if AI aware machines would be integrated into society or given rights? I'm kind of tired of the "oh no, the machines are becoming aware" storylines. It should be a given at this point. I'm more interested in what comes next.

Bicentennial Man
Futurama

However, tbh, widespread AI can only concievably end with a robot uprising in some form or another.

i thought of this but this is more focused on them getting to the human/robot point.

idk if it has to go into a robot uprising. and even if it did, couldnt it be seen as like humanity and its civil wars and uprising? eventually society balances out. how does that happen here?

Battlestar Galactica is probably the best example of that.

The movie AI does. Though watch at your own risk. It's the worst movie ever made.

The movie A.I. does, but not only is it creepy but it's incredibly depressing. Filmed very well but damn if it isn't a sad and daunting movie.

In "The Measure of a Man", Data was involved in a hearing to determine if he was a free individual with rights or simply a machine owned by Starfleet.

You can find a lot of this stuff in books. Asimov dealt with these ideas a lot.
