Sure the movie has some slow parts, some terrible plot holes, logic flaws, and premise. But the whole part where Superman saves the jet liner carrying the space shuttle is unquestionable awesomeoness. That's the best depiction of Superman flight and physics ever done. (caveat, I haven't seen MoS yet).
Overall, I don't HATE Superman Returns, I'm just disappointed in it.

It was well-made in terms of the look of the film, but it gave us nothing new. It needed a fresh villain. It was mediocre overall.
