There are a few things I never could understand about some of my favorite scifi movies:

1. When fighting robots, such as terminators or the droids in the crappy 3 new Star Wars movies, I notice that they nearly always miss their targets. Why the hell is this? As robots, they should be able to hit their mark every time.

2. How the hell can people understand R2D2? I guess after a while you would get used to all those damn boops and beeps, but Luke and the others seem to know what he is saying.

Its late and that is all I have for now as I am watching Return of the Jedi.

Oh, and whichever of Return of the Jedi's writers came up with the ewoks, he needs to be kicked repeatedly in the nuts until he passes out from the pain. The he should have an ewok suit surgically attached to his body so that he would be forced to show his failure for the rest of his life.

Darth Vader actually built C-Threepio but he never recognized him at all? And he could sense Luke aboard the shuttle approaching Endor but didn't sense anything about Leia when she was his prisoner aboard the Death Star?

Threepio looks real different with "clothes".

The Dark Side has a lot to do with it,

That might have to do with the fact that she doesn't have force powers.

They gave him gold coverings as the three prequels went on though.

Bots weren't defragged before going into battle.

In the books she becomes a full fledged Jedi. But using just the movies as a reference, remember the scene where Luke and R2D2 are flying away from Dantooine and Obi Wan says "There goes our last hope", and Yoda replies "No, there is another."

ETA: Good lord, I'm a nerd.

1. Luke and R2D2 were flying away from Dagobah when Yoda said that (Luke was leaving to rescue Han, Leia, et. al.

2. It's spelled "Tatooine"

eta: my bad, there is a Dantooine mentioned briefly in Ep. IV and featured prominently in Star Wars fiction.

The guy can choke people to death via videolink. You'd think he could sense his own daughter.

George Lucas.

He has said in interviews that he didn't go to his high school prom as he was coming up with these ideas and on prom night the ewok was one.

Ewoks were supposed to be Wookies (Notice the backward spelling) but they were over budget so they used smaller costumes and renamed the Wookies to Ewoks.

This, unfortunately, is a true story.

How the hell were they over budget after kicking arse with IV and V?

Even though I now know that George Lucas is at fault for the ewoks, I still believe that he should have to wear his shame for the rest of his life by attaching an ewok suit surgically to his body.

For a change of topic, someone explain to me how the likes of droids and terminators are unable to hit their target every time. They lack the spastic muscles of humans and if you take into account the laser rifles, wind and other affects no longer play into the equation.

I don't buy the "they didn't defrag the robots" explanation. That just makes absolutely no sense.

Bastards need to learn how to update their software. You can't win a war with Windows Millennium Edition.

No wonder they can't shoot straight. Error messages constantly block their view.

Now you know what version of Windows the Millennium Falcon was using...and why it broke down so much :rimshot:

But it did make the Kessle Run in less than 12 parsecs (a unit of distance). Just think about how badass that ship would have been if it had an equally badass operating system. It would have been able to travel through time or something.

Linux on the Falcon = Jedi Obsolete

Which leads me to believe the Death Star was driven by Windows 95. You hit one kernel, and the whole thing blows up.

Only plausible explanation. Thank the Force that the Death Star's antivirus program (laser cannons) sucked serious wang.

I always thought that they went with the Ewok route because it was a lot easier to find a whole mess of midgets than it was a bunch of 7 feet tall skinny white guys...isn't that it? I swear I heard that somewhere!!!
