Looking for new shows. I know American Crime got cancelled after 3 seasons but I thought it looked interesting.

Riverdale season 2 is about to start.

The wife watched Riverdale and it's exactly what you'd expect out of a CW show. Just enough teen drama to make you ask yourself why you're watching this shite, but not quite enough to make you stop. It was certainly no Veronica Mars. If you were considering Riverdale and haven't seen Veronica Mars you should watch VM instead. I think it's on Amazon Prime.

Darn. I watched a trailer for it and it made it look like a Veronica Mars type show. Seemed like it had some cool cinematography for a CW show.

The murder mystery is ok and it does look good, but I wouldn't consider it good enough to be demographic transcendent like a Veronica Mars or Buffy. It also probably doesn't help that season long murder mysteries have been done quite a bit at this point. I'm not saying you'll hate watching it, but it's at least a full star below VM.

First season of American Crime was one of my favorite seasons of a TV show I've ever watched. I thought it was outstanding. Regina King absolutely crushed her role. The second season fell off a little, but it was still pretty solid, a lot better than 95% of the stuff that networks are putting out. I'm trying to catch up on season 3, but haven't had time yet. If this was on HBO, Showtime, or even AMC, it would be talked about a lot more.

I turned Riverdale off halfway through episode 1 because it was just so much of a high school show, though I was somewhat intrigued by the mystery part.

Never seen American Crime. I watched all of season 1 Riverdale.

Like said before, Veronica Mars is better.

Riverdale is watchable if you take it for what it is. Betty and the bitchy red head could definitely get it.

I feel like Riverdale is more like Gossip Girl if it was wearing an Archie t-shirt bought from Urban Outfitters.

I watched Riverdale. It's actually not terrible. It's not award winning or groundbreaking in any way but it's worth watching.

As someone who read Archie comics growing up, the thought of turning this comic book into a teen drama tv show has me all discombobulated. I can't even bring myself to watch one episode. I feel like it could potentially ruin my childhood adolescent memories somehow.

Riverdale is ok. Trashy fun. American Crime is a much better show. All 3 seasons are stand alone so you don't need to see one to see the next.

My wife just started watching this. It is mostly filmed in Langley, British Columbia. The Post office they always show is in Mission City, BC.

The Chocolate shoppe, Pop's, is actually Rocko's Family diner in Mission. It has a river behind it that I have fished a few times. Nice area.

American Crime season 1 is amazing, season 2 is very, very good and season 3 is watchable. But,3 is quite a drop off IMO.

This.

It’s weird watching that character bang that other character in that profession and realize it’s Archie we’re talking about.

I haven't read them but from what I understand modern Archie comics have way more adult themes than what they used to and the show reflects that.
