Died today at age 73. Silence of the Lambs is a masterpiece.

Between he and his brother, some really good work done. His stands on it's own as well.

Ted was his nephew.

Jonathan was able to score the 14 years younger Belinda Carlisle (Go Gos) back in the 1980s.

Ted worked a lot with Denis Leary. He partied pretty hard back in the day. Ted died really young.

Directed one of the best movies of all time. Pretty good legacy, I'd say. RIP

agreed but I can't watch it anymore
all it does is remind me that David Byrne killed off a GOAT band for no good reason

You mean his ego wasn't a good reason?

Chubby or slim version? (Each had their merits.)

1983/1984, which I'm thinking was one of the slimmest versions:

(Best pic I could find on short notice. Apparently ole boy pulled his best, "What does a guy have to do to get a date with you?" line and it worked. Not enough to pull her away from Mike Marshall or cocaine. But still, kudos to Demme for living the life.

Rachel Getting Married is a brilliant film. Demme was a great director who really did march to his own drum. Really interesting career, and by all accounts, a genuinely nice person who enthusiastically supported his colleagues.

I think I liked the original Go Go's version better.

I believe I read somewhere she was a pretty wild child.

The Go-Gos were as debauched as any male rock band. As I understand it, there is a sex tape from that era, of them with male groupies and/or roadies. ALL of the Go Gos.

I mean, Jane became a dominatrix for some period of time. I bet that band was a hoot to travel with in the 1980s.
