One of the 5 greatest westerns ever made... Wayne in his prime.

what are the two that are the same?

One has James Caan, the other has Ricky Nelson.
One has Dean Martin as the drunk, the other has Robert Mitchum.

Got it. Rio Bravo and El Dorado.

Oh and Rio Lobo was similar but not identical like 2 & 3.

Sons of Katie Elder is also one of my favorites.

Any Western with John Wayne is a good western.

Howard Hawks liked the story so much that he used it for three movies.

John Carpenter liked Hawks so much that he used the story as the basis for Assault on Precinct 13 (and then remade Hawks' The Thing).

Then we got the crappy remake of that.

To be fair, it is a great story device - cops under siege by bad guys. It gives a paranoid vibe while they wait for help to arrive (some military movies capture this vibe as well). Another similar theme, and legendary western is High Noon.
