The hand thing is just a payoff to the comic books, like 10 years late

The CRM appears to be sending Rick and the other consignees to defend Civic Republic territory from a small herd moving towards the community's crops. The zombies in said herd are on fire and a blazing building can be seen from the direction from which they are coming. The most logical explanation is that a fire occurred at a CRM food facility and attracted nearby zombies, which were then set alight but continued marching forward regardless. The zombies do not appear to be inherently aflame, meaning these are regular zombies that simply staggered too close to a fire, not fire-based variants. The CRM referring to the oncoming wave as "ignited" further supports this.

Didn't Rick say something about using the dead for fuel in the scene where they led the herd to the wall with slots for killing them?

I’m sure they figured out the trick the crazy guy in Dead City was using.

Show went to the shitter when Glenn died, and died died, when Carl was next. I was looking forward to that kid growing into his own and whooping some arse! He was starting to before he quit the show.

All throughout I was reading that the show was really about Carl and not Rick.

That sure went to hell in a hand basket.

Episode two. Not bad.

I was hoping they’d go one way with it, but they’re going a different way.

Maybe something like finding out why this happened, or a way to be immune, or finding some paradise that Zombies can't reach.

It was essentially a lab leak.

And wasn’t the big thing everyone was infected? So yeah, no immunity.

If that were to happen I feel like this is sort of what would happen. You group up and fight over resources.

I’m not saying the show didn’t get old, because it did. It’s just what do you really do in a zombie apocalypse other than just survive?

Yep. And the group we follow ended up in a DC area that was largely evacuated.

The other shows have made it clear that out in the real world there was a bit more structure to survival in some areas.

the garbage lady is SO not attractive and the weird hair cuts don't help. she needs to have an "accident".

was cool to see how Michonne ended up where she was and how the chopper was taken down.

this army just wiping out everyone who isn't them?

could they have burned the bodies and made it look like Rick died in the crash?

I can’t remember the last time I actually enjoyed the main TWD series (I watched it through the end) and it turned me off of all of the spin offs it got so bad.

With that said, these first 2 eps were great. Rick and Michonne are just so much more enjoyable to watch than all of the shite people they threw at us and tried to get us to care about.

The garbage lady's hair is killing me.
As for the other spinoffs, I enjoyed Dead City but nope'd out of the one with Daryl in France after a couple of episodes.

Yep. I recorded and eventually got to the first two episodes and now I won’t be going to sleep Sundays until I watch the newest one.

Due to it being a limited series, the pacing is great. I initially thought it was retarded how Rick lost his hand but, by the end of episode one, I got it and it did the job of establishing that he did everything he could to escape including eventually even cutting off his hand to succeed.

I also didn’t feel Rick and Michonne had chemistry when they were first paired up but it’s there now.

I welcome future 6 episode seasons with these two.

Had they stuck to the source material in the regular show that would have cost them a fortune in digital effects to edit out his hand every week

Ehhh they literally have that missing hand thing to Aaron in the main show.

The comics absolutely were to some extent Won’t spoil everything but the comics and with Carl reading the story of Rick Grimes to his daughter. Rick may have been the main character for most of the comic but Carl was always endgame. Rick’s entire reason for living was to make a world that Carl could live in.
