I really like the podcast but strongly favor episodes that Bill Simmons is actually on. He is the best at driving the show and it lacks something when he is absent. Also, love when Russillo joins.

They've referenced it in other bay movies but yeah, I don't get it. They choose some really weird movies like country strong.
I was listening to another one of their podcasts about movies and it seems like Bill Simmons has a lot of say in the movies. Specifically they were talking about how Grand Budapest hotel would likely never be done because he wouldn't let them.

Yeah he’s said him self he doesn’t like Wes Anderson or Coen Brothers
I’m guessing the pods he’s not on the numbers drop significantly so he doesn’t want to do a ton of pods that he’s not involved with so they are limited to his college DVD shelf which blows
It’s hilarious that he came out and said “it’s not open mic night” about giving people chances at running these pods, but he did the country strong pod and the same week had his 16 year old daughter come on the pod cast to talk about teen news
