Question about this week's Gotham (spoilers)

How did Fish's right hand man get free? He was taken down with Fish by the old man and his gang. That's how that week ended.
Then, this week, he shows up to save Fish with a black eye. Did I miss something? How did he escape?

You missed a scene,
They showed a scene of him breaking out of the back of a van, killing the driver of the van, & choking another guy to find out where Fish was being held.

Not only do the bad guys not kill the good guys when they have the perfect opportunity, they don't even kill the rival bad guys when the opportunity presents itself.

Yea wtf. Fish and that guy should be dead. So dumb that they got out of this. And of course the guy will probably escape again.
