Zero interest in this, same with Ridley Scott. Prometheus deserves the MST 3000 treatment.

I didn't think Prometheus was that good, but I will watch it every time that it is on.

Buttttt I refuse to see Prometheus as cannon. Not one iota of it. It ruins the magic if the Alien movies.

That's the biggest gripe people had with the movie. It wasn't the gaping plot holes, it was marketing the movie as a prequel to Alien then shitting on the canon with some convoluted mess of a standalone movie masquerading as a pseudo prequel to bring in more viewers.

Ultimately, I blame that a-hole from Lost.

I couldn't stand the first one. I am not a huge Aliens fan and missed out on the parallels or whatever. I just was annoyed by the stupid plot additions like how Charlize Theron's character has no real use and the movie is the same without her, how she dies RUNNING IN THE SAME DIRECTION, and the old man lying. He didn't even have to lie.

Idk, hope this one is better and not just awesome special effects.

Saw Prometheus in theaters first day of release and hated it. Haven't been able to convince myself to watch it again. Too many plot holes, character personality issues, and elements added to the story in order to make it seem like it was being intelligent by tricking you with a worthless plot point.

There was so much wrong with the movie.

Biggest problem - There's nothing redeeming about the film. No tension in the movie, just a series of plot events in a convoluted story.

The thing that really bothered me was how the "story" unfolded. Things did not follow a flow that seemed in the least bit logical for me. Supposed motivations were not followed by actions that made sense to me. I left the theater feeling very annoyed.

And yes, I'm still going to see the sequal in theaters when it comes out. I guess that I'm a sucker.

Will most certainly see it, because for how frustrating it will more than likely be, it will be a superior SciFi flick to 99 percent of whatever SciFi will precede it.

I benefited from hearing how terrible it was before watching. When I finally sat down and watched it, I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next.

No tension in the movie,

When ol' girl is trying to get the alien out of her body...that wasn't tense? By the way, the most disturbing part was when the "bag" containing th alien busted and all the liquid splashed into her open cut.

I'm bad with blood and gore in movies cause I guess I'm a pansy and when that scene happened my friends said I went white in the face. The exact moment you mentioned I recall about vomiting. One of the worst things ive ever seen

Yeah the big "reveal" when you find out he's her father, it doesn't make any kind of emotional impact. And what was the point of concealing he was there the entire time? It's not as if he had to be up front and say "Yeah I'm tagging along so these guys can grant me immortality".

The presence of the xenormorphs just makes it even more convoluted.

I agree. I also think that Ridley was trying to play off the same "gotcha" moments of the 1st two films.

Alien - robot ends up being sent to try and retrieve the alien secretly.

Aliens - corporate douche knew about everything from the start (not really a gotcha moment though, you know he is a douche from the start)

Prometheus - Corporate head secretly stows aboard the ship after making crew think he is dead.

On top of all that, as much as I like Charlize Theron, her character so completely idiotic that it did nothing but bring the movie down. Completely useless character.
