Wow, this was the hugest letdown I've had in a long time. Completely flat and uninteresting.

I honestly gave up after the second one. I never saw At World's End and I don't plan on seeing On Stranger Tides either.
I still find the first one to be one of the most entertaining blockbusters from the past ten years, though.

I like pirates in general, so I'll watch it, but I'm not expecting too much. Like someone once sang:
If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down.
That being said, if it's as bad as it sounds, it will not meet or exceed my already low expectations.

I actually thought it was better than the last two (not much). No where near the first, but I didn't expect that. I definitely prefer Keira Knightley to Penelope Cruz (never been a fan).
Then again, I saw it with my 7 year old twins, so their enjoyment of it increased my enjoyment.

POTC 4 isn't BAD.
It's not GREAT... but I thought it was a good movie.
Now I liked 1 and 2... wasn't a big fan of 3. But 4 did the trick for me. I got what I was expecting from a Pirates of the Carribean movie.
I think a lot of the disappointment with 4 has to do with people still wanting to lash out at 3!
Of the four movies, this latest one seems to be the most similar to the first one. I wasn't disappointed, and I'm really wondering what movie people are seeing when they sit down for POTC 4. The bad word of mouth on this movie is needless and out of control. Don't understand it.

Think this sums it up pretty well. I thought 1 was Great. 2 was Good. 3 was just bad. 4 was Decent, but i'm still upset about 3 hah.

2 and 3 pwn 4. Never understood the all the dislike for 3. I get that there was enough plot there for 2 movies but it still managed to be highly entertaining.

I was hoping for a better movie, on account of getting rid of the 2 most boring characters from the first 3.

I agree with this. I was enjoying myself for the film it was and wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. However, the end just sucked. (SPOILERS) I mean the Spanish (who by the way only speak English) come in and destroy the Fountain of Youth in the name of God? Yeah good one. That was just so dumb I couldn't fathom what they were thinking when they wrote that down on paper.

Because the movie makes absolutely zero sense. Everyone backstabs each other so many times I really can't fathom who is on whose side, and thats not good for a summer popcorn flick. My confusion throughout the film led to me disliking it.

I really don't see how anyone could have expected POTC4 to be worth the price of a ticket but that's just me I guess
