Platoon question re Elias

Platoon is in top 5 movies of all time.
My question. Who thinks Sgt. Elias was gay?
The one scene that convinces me was when they were at a firebase and Elias is taking a leak and Johnny Depp walks up to him brushing hist teeth and taking a look at his johnson.

Not sure if serious. Platoon deals with a lot of issues; race, politics of the war, confusion by the grunts about the war and why they were there etc. But sexual orientation is not a part of the commentary.
As for that scene, if seeing another guy's johnson or showering with or performing personal hygene in front of guys while in the field bothers some guy, the infantry is not the place to be. I missed Veitnam by a few years, but I was in the infantry. You wash your nasty arse every chance you get, whether from a stream or from a water can. You don't care who sees you. You just want to get rid of the BO and prevent crotch rot.
Embarrassment is not an option

All I can say about Sgt. Barnes is he was the baddest mofo on the planet.
For you newbies watch the movie, then watch it with Captain Dale Dyes commentary. He fought in HUE and knows his shite.

In the scene where the black gut gets killed by the NVA, in the commentary Dye says the paper nailed to his chest is a chieu hoi pass.

I haven't. I've seen the movie countless times and could quote most of it. I'm going to check out the other features on the blu ray. I've only seen a couple of the features.I hope it's on it because it sounds interesting

They're in the village know. When they are going thru the weapons one of them is a Czech VZ-58. It was the Czech version of an AK. It was a better weapon, but was different from the AK series.
The Soviets made the Czechs ditch them and use the AKM.
Now, the civilian version of the VZ58 can be bought in the US for about 450 dollars. I own one of the ones made in Czechoslakia and converted to high cap in the US.
Let me tell you, buy one. It is just a dependable as an AK, but much more accurate and built like a Swiss watch.
Truly a great weapon.

Of course he's gay. When Chris first goes to the Heads tent, and Elias does his little toodlydoo waive while eating a banana proves it. Also, having Chris suck his ganja smoke through a shotgun barrel is further proof. "Put your mouth on this" indeed.

He wasn't homo. Just a free thinker. Almost hippie like. Barnes was a closet homo who wanted elias. That is why he was so angry. ....
I love that movie. Found in the back of an old movie store my brother and sister worked at was a signed and sealed copy of the script. The kind you give out for gifts and whatnot. We found it while cleaning the place out before it closed. It is ptretty neat.

Of course...we know this because Sgt. Barnes was a total bigot who wanted to kill all the gooks - even the one's who weren't laughing; seems like he caught on to Elias secret in the jungle...friendly-fire during war is a nice way to cover-up a blatant hate crime.
