https://techcrunch.com/2023/06/27/paramount-with-showtime-launches-at-11-99-month/

quote:

Today’s the day that Showtime officially integrates with Paramount+ in the U.S., giving subscribers access to all Showtime titles, including “Billions,” “Dexter,” “Yellowjackets,” “George & Tammy” and more.

The new ad-free plan, Paramount+ with Showtime, costs $11.99 per month and is replacing Paramount+’s premium ad-free plan, which was $9.99. Existing premium subscribers — with or without the Showtime bundle — will automatically be upgraded to Paramount+ with Showtime.

Not sure how this works with my 247 subscription (a 247 sub gets you Paramount + for "free").

Only reason I would pick up Paramount was to watch Champions League and I've recently found that most of those matches are available on Univision. This merger should've happened while "Yellowstone" was still must-watch TV.

Nice. Paramount+ was already a solid streaming service.

They have some good series and A24 content. The movies are like all movie services and it rotates.

It's good for a $0.99/mo (for 2 months) sub that comes up on prime 2-3 times per year (and should soon for Prime Day) but I wouldn't pay for it separately for continuous access (Like Max).

I got an email about this today. I'm not sure how it will affect your 247 subscription but it says I'll be billed at the new rate the next cycle unless I change it. I'm going to keep it for now, having Showtime may be worth the extra two bucks. I'll have to see what their content is to be sure

Paramount+ was pretty useless to me. Maybe this will add some value

If it weren't for them having Star Trek TOS and the Twilight Zone I would drop it.

So I have Showtime through my cable subscriber. I guess this doesn't mean I have access to Paramount plus though right? Or do I?

Same here. Around two or three months ago, I started getting the ad free version and never upgraded to it.

I like Paramount+. But I still wish that there was a streaming service that had more classic tv shows in their library.

After you watch 1883/1923 and all the Mission Impossible movies and all the Star Trek movies, there isn't much.

But don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Two months free was two months free.

But I'd never pay for Paramount+ and Showtime. Showtime would constantly get offered at $.99 a month promotional on Prime. There's a reason two lean platforms are merging.
