What’s a movie you like to watch around Halloween that isn’t necessarily a “Halloween movie”?

I’ll submit Death Becomes Her.

It’s not set at Halloween or mentions the holiday, but it’s eerie mood and potion-centered plot about two women trying to cheat death is a great addition to a Halloween movie marathon.

Bug (2006)

Don’t wanna spoil the plot because it is best to go in blind. But yeah……whew.

Die Hard, an action thriller that’s a Christmas movie.

Arsenic and Old Lace.
It takes place and has a Halloween scene in it but not a Halloween move per se.

A Mighty Wind.

Something about fall weather and folk music go together.

The 1982 version of the Thing. Not set in Halloween, but an absolute case study in using sound and lighting (and allowing the viewer's mind to wander) to create tension instead of cheap jump scares and overwhelming gore.

It’s definitely a Halloween movie. Horror movies in general of all types are Halloween movies unless they’re distinctly tied to another holiday.

Burtons entire catalogue could be considered Halloween movies.

Right but we’re talking about outside the box. Sleepy Hallow is not outside the box!

I recently saw a Sporcle quiz that fit the op’s theme, and it had Arsenic and Old Lace. Rocky Horror Picture Show was another one that I hadn’t thought of as a Halloween movie.
