I hope Rian Johnson makes Ep 8 darker, but it should still feel like a Star Wars movie too. I'm not sure if what Oscar Isaac says about it feeling like an independent film is a good thing or not.

As long as it's good, I don't care what it feels like.

Everything the Star Wars leaks page on Reddit keeps posting makes the movie seem pretty weird. Hopefully he doesn't frick it up.

This doesn't please me. They should have gotten someone with more credentials and at least an idea of how to direct a big budget film. It needs to feel like a Star Wars movie, not like an independent film set in a Star Wars universe.

I didn't read the article or whatever, but that quote could mean more than one thing. It could mean that the film feels like a completely unique film unconnected to episode 7, or it could mean that the film feels like they're making an "indie" (small budget etc.) film.

EDIT: Read the article, definitely the latter.

I bet this means it's more dialogue driven instead of action driven. I'm okay with this. We'll really see character development in 8 & 9. 7 was just setting the table.

I'm concerned by the comments but not afraid. All of the actors are talking about how much they love the script. As long as Luke has a significant amount of screen time I will be happy.

I just assumed this means they are taking certain risks whether it be from a storytelling standpoint, a visual standpoint, or a combination of the two.

That could mean Episode 8 feels less homogenized or it could mean that it will feel less like Star Wars.

I don't think that says anything to the budget or level of special effects.

Independent films skew toward socially/culturally liberal movies. That will fit right in with the social justice warrior path established in TFA.

Well we already know a major scene takes place in a casino....also John boyega rides a giant space horse at some point during a chase scene.

I don't think there is anyone I would rather see direct this movie more than Rian Johnson. The guy is a fricking master.
