It's about monsters in trucks.

And it sucks.

While I'm sure it is bad, I read a review that compared it to silly 90s movies like Surf Ninjas and Encino Man

quote:

Unrepentantly absurd and unstoppably fun, “Monster Trucks” is exactly the kind of kids’ movie I want to see from studios. It’s an exciting escapist adventure that’ll entertain the whole family, without talking down to kids or pandering to parents with pop culture references. It’s original. It’s risky. And it deserves better than the treatment the Internet dumped on this strange but wondrous creature feature.

I may take the kids

My kids want to go see it pretty badly. This may not be the bomb that people think it will be.

Why didn't they cast a teenager instead of a dude clearly in his mid-20s?

It has a $125 million dollar budget and has been sitting on a shelf finished at Paramount for the past 2 years. No way this isn't a total bomb.

Anyone view this turd this weekend?

Pulled in an estimated $10.5 million this weekend domestic (with another $14.5 million foreign), so someone did.

Didn't the writer/director/producer get serious input from his/her 4 year old? I thought I remember seeing something along those lines.

On the other hand, maybe it will be the bomb that everyone thought it would be. Yikes..
