At the end of episode 3 I figured he was going to blackmail the Kettlemans into retaining him as their lawyer. Can't wait!

I am guessing that he keeps the money in exchange for backing up their kidnap story and defending them. He uses that money to become Saul Goodman and get his TV ads going. It also gives him leverage over his brother's firm to force them to make him a settlement offer.
I guess we will know soon enough, but that's how I see it.

Why would he need to blackmail them? He saw the cash, now he's a witness or their attorney. He doesn't have to blackmail them for that.
