The 1st was the worst movie I've seen in recent memory. Hard pass for me

Surely you're exaggerating, right? I mean I found it disappointing and downright silly at times, but surely you've seen worse. Much worse.

Is the first one any good? May give it a shot if you guys believe it is.

It is entertaining enough to have on in the background on a Sunday when nothing else is on and you have to get work done, but don't want to do it in silence. The perfect movie for this is national treasure, but Now You See Me is capable of the same. It is saved from being utterly disastrous by the cast which is at turns great and awful, but retains enough charm to make it worth watching while you iron clothes or send emails to your boss during the football offseason.

I like the first one. It did great at the box office. Well enough, that it is going to be a trilogy. Like someone said earlier, if your are a movie snob that shits on everything, you wont like this. If you can get enjoy something for what it is, this is a good movie to pass time for two hours. Great cast as well

His recent memory must be terrible and limited to the most recent movie he's seen, because every movie is the worst for him.

nope. i only watch movies that i think i will like. i dont go see transformers thinking "ah, i will turn my brain off for today."

i saw that the original was written by the writer of Men In Black so I went in expecting clever and fun sequences, but all i got was cringeworthy writing and awful acting. plot holes so big you could drive a semi through them

I often agree with you on movies, but man, sometimes I wonder if you just prefer being a miserable cuss.

I am usually not bothered by these things in movies but the first one really bothered me with the way they did the magic.

Are they actually supposed to be wizards? Like are these people superhuman? I don't remember them ever saying they were but they just did the most ridiculous shite that is nowhere near possible.

They are not superhuman in any way. Not sure how you could ever really gather that.

None of their shite is supposed to be believable. It's literally supposed to make you think, "wait, WTF just happened," like any other badass magician would if you saw them.

I gathered that because they are doing superhuman stuff. It could have just been a Harry Potter movie. A Harry Potter movie with a fricking awful ending.

Are they trying to make magic cool or something?

I thought this was a comedy the first time I saw the trailer, like Burt Wonderstone or something. I was not familiar with the first movie.
