I know this thread has been started 8 million times, so if anyone has a past one bookmarked, a link would be greatly appreciated.

I just moved up to NY, and my roommates don't have cable and don't want to get it anytime soon. What are my options for being able to watch shows/espn/football, etc. If I just wanted basic cable, would an HDTV antenna do the trick? If I wanted to be able to watch ESPN, how would I go about getting something to do that?

TIA

Firstrowsports.eu will never let you down for sports. Mma, nba, nfl, ncaaf and any sport under the sun. Just a lot of annoying popups.

If you have an Hd antenna you will be fine for watching your local network affiliates on Saturdays for college football and Sunday's for the pros.

There's a good thread to look over on the OT (try not to judge me; I go for the comic relief)

digital TV antenna thread

When it comes to live sports from sources like ESPN, I suspect you'll have to find live feeds online or find your way to the nearest sports bar.

ESPN has an app providing espn, 2, 3, and U. It's called Watch ESPN.

So even if you want to pay for cable your roommates say you can't?

For movies or tv shows this is a good link.

solarmovie.eu

Some of the new stuff are cam but most are HD or DVD quality and have 50 or more links.

I could, but then i'd be paying for it by myself and they would still get use of it more than likely when i'm not home. wouldn't be worth the money, TBH. I don't watch enough TV to justify it.
