What would you have done?

Personally I would have taken 2 or 3 stacks and left the rest.

When I found the briefcase, I would have emptied the contents on the spot and put all the money into a sack that I would have with me, leaving the tracking device in the briefcase.

Then I would have left town forever. And by leave town, I mean, go at least 1000 miles away, change my name, etc.

I would have taken the entire amount and put it in something else right then or soon after, before I got home.

I can't see anyone just taking a few stacks and leaving, it may sound good in theory but when you are staring at a case full o cash greed and money lust take over.

Don't make me be the one to say "hookers and blow".

Well, I guess I just did it.

I probably would have done the same thing as him except I would have gotten killed quicker.

That was the decision that got him killed. That's the beauty of the film - his fate was sealed in Act I.

The tracking device on the briefcase may or may not have gotten him at home. Returning to the scene allowed Chirugh to link him to the money and that was it - he would have followed him to the end of the Earth, if necessary.

Well, after seeing the movie that's what I would do.

Exactly.

And it's such an interesting story because I think it was natural for most people to think Llewelyn was the main character, and then when he was killed so abruptly (and off screen for that matter), it was kind of a shock to the system. It took a second viewing for me to truly appreciate it as I was more focused on the development of the Ed Tom character. And then I read the book and it was even better.
