Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan has revealed that he is keen to bring back sci-fi TV show The X Files.
The US showrunner is the most popular choice among fans to lead a revival, after the series left small screens in 2002.
Gilligan told fan site The X Files Lexicon that he would “love to be involved”, before adding that his busy schedule could get in the way.
“I don’t know if I necessarily could be but I got to tell you I hope that is the case,” he said.
Gilligan joined The X Files in 1995 and was behind some of the most popular episodes, including “X Cops” and “Bad Blood”. He helped co-create spin-off The Lone Gunmen, which he insists he is “still proud of and will always be proud of” despite it only running for thirteen episodes.
“The thought that there could be more episodes of The X Files is very exciting to me indeed,” Gilligan said.
