I may be late to this party... but the trailer shown during the super bowl looked to be suffering from a similar problem as the last movie... too much and too fast of moving robot action.

I'd rather watch another Fast & Furious movie, or Cowboys vs Aliens

The crazy action wasn't what killed it from me. It was the ghetto-bots and perv-ticons.

When you have a small transformer humping your leading lady's leg, that's when you know the movie has hit rock bottom.

It wasn't the only problem with the movie, but it was one of the main ones. Too many barely distinguishable robots interacting at a fast pace.

But yeah, if they sure up the shity writing and remove the campy racists robots, overuse of the parents, leading lady leg humping, etc... it could still be worth watching.

I was too busy involuntarily flipping off the TV to notice details.

How can any adult even consider watching these ridiculous movies? It isn't even mindless action. It's just plain mindless.

And what ridiculous movies are you referring to?

If you are talking about Transformers then maybe action just isn't for you. No one in their right mind would ever say these movies were Oscar contenders or had a great story. I mean for frick's sake they are based off of an animated japanese show and a toy line about giant alien robots for crying out loud. If you dig boring emotional dramas then cool for you. When I go to movie theaters, I want to see shite I don't get to see everyday such as giant alien robots beating the shite out of each other. I don't care about a character's lifestory - I'm here for 2 - 2 and a half hours. If I want to be entertained by a long deep story with great character development, then that's what I have my television for. I watch House, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, etc.for my character and story fixes; I go to movie theaters to see bad arse productions of stuff I don't see in my everyday life or on my tv set. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a comedy in the multiplex every once and awhile, and I will see a movie such as Inglorious Basterds or even Paranormal Activity, but you really aren't getting the full bang for your buck if you are going to a movie theater to see a drama that really wouldn't change your experience if you watched it at home instead.

I'm betting 15% on the Tomatometer? Anyone else thinks this is a safe bet?

Jesus Christ you are a douchebag. Just because it is action oriented doesn't mean it has the excuse to be stupid. Inception and the Matrix are a prime examples. The first one wasn't bad or extremely stupid (although it certainly had its stupid moments), but the second one was..... holy shite. I mean somehow the government has managed to cover up a battle that took place in front of 10 million people. I mean really how fricking stupid does Michael Bay think we are? Wouldn't surprise me if Michael Bay did the same thing in the next one to where everyone doesn't know of the Transformers on the planet.

Wow, fricking wow

You are preaching to a movie board and you truly don't understand the magic of cinema. Simply stunning.

you sound like a snob.

If people have guilty pleasures like Transformers then so be it.

Not sure why people care so much what others like. I couldn't be more excited about Fast Five and I have no doubt it will be bad.

I'm also looking forward to Transformers 3 if for no other reason that no movie except this one will show giant robots from a childhood cartoon fighting each other.

stop being a snob

Giant alien robots are definitely serious business. You do realize that this franchise is based off of a toy line/kid show right?

Inception is vastly overrated on this board. Some people act like it's this great film, but if you take a big step back you realize it's a great idea, but not a great movie (good one that was worth the watch though).

The first Matrix was a pretty good movie, but that's more sci-fi then action. However, those follow ups were meh at best. Not exactly the pinnacle of american cinema though.

It had its flaws. Every movie does. Every single movie ever made has gaps that can't be explained, yet people tend not to notice them. It comes with the nature of movies. I do agree that this was one of the bigger gaps in a story.

You got a problem with me watching House, True Blood, and Boardwalk Empire bruh?

Enlighted me oh Cinema Zenmaster. Here is a e-beer as a token of my gratitude.

He really is. He acts like he runs this place. Step out of line and he goes all 1984 on that arse.

I don't feel guilty about it nor am I ashamed to admit that I enjoyed both movies. Do I give a flying frick if someone else thinks they are cinematic garbage? Not in the least damn bit. Film is entertainment to me, not art. Art is for galleries, not multiplexes.

I'll only see that if The Rock lays the smackdown on some candy asses. Can you let a brotha know if he does so?

Got a case of em right now, too.

Have you sen any of GamecockAlum's other posts? If you like Transformers then ok, but if I say I don't like Transformers, then calling me out about not knowing what makes a good action movie is just stupid.
