Ultimately if there's a movie I want to see so bad that I need to see it the day it's released, I'm gonna buy the DVD or Blu-Ray. I like having a big media collection though so it doesn't bother me.
I use Netflix for things like TV shows, documentaries, OLD movies that I've heard about but never bothered to track down before. I've used streaming a few times but if there's a better selection maybe I'll use it more.

I've watched all of The Office, all of Weeds, and now I'm watching Dexter all on streaming. It's great.

do they really think people will HAVE to buy most of the movies that are released on DVD?
I work at Best Buy and it is amazing how many people buy new releases within the first week of release. Best Buy could get rid of movies over a month old and just sell new releases and box sets of TV shows. Sales would barely decrease in my opinion.

People buy the big releases, but do they really buy like the what I'd call smaller films?
I had to have my own copy of Zombieland and District 9, but when it comes to movies like The Blind Side, Sherlock Holmes, or Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, those will go into my Netflix queue at some point.
I'll buy Avatar because my gf wants it, but she'd never ask me to pick up a romantic comedy...it'd get watched once.
