Willem DeFoe is a great choice for Ryuk, but the direction they went with Light is terrible IMO. He is not supposed to be drugged out, paranoid.

I hope they don't screw this up. Willem DeFoe sounds like the perfect choice.
But yea, Light is supposed to be brilliant and handsome, while L is equally brilliant but opposite in personality and appearance.

Willem Dafoe is gonna be great in this but the rest looks pretty terrible. What makes Death Note great was the battle of brains between Light and L. Light is the kid that is perceived to be perfect and it is why only L thinks he is Kira. Are we only getting one Death Note movie? It really should've been a mini series or maybe two short seasons.

I'm fine with it just being a movie. If I want to watch a good death note show, I'll just watch.....death note
