NetFlix Issue

If an IT thread is not appropriate here, sorry.Point me in the right direction. But I've been getting Netflix free streamlined by my son, through his account, for 5-6-7 mths now. All I had to do was get Roku. Now, I am getting a message, when trying to bring up a movie: "HDCP unauthorized. Contact disabled". Admittedly IT challenged, but is this telling me I can no longer get it through my son's streamlining?

Someone here can probably answer but the tech board definitely could answer that for you.

Try a new HDMI cable. That error indicates that the HDCP handshaking is failing, a bad HDMI cable can be the cause.

Its a handshake error coming from your TV. Some TVs just don't work well with Roku.
There are a few things to try:
- Hard Restart Roku
- Make sure HDMI is plugged in solidly
- Flip the HDMI cord around
- Replace HDMI cord
- Different HDMI port on your TV

When I used to borrow my roommates Roku it would do that sometimes, I would unplug the power cord and plug it back in and it would work fine after that
