So what?

Isn't celebrity or movies and making money for places like Netflix about being liked?

If they hate you, you have a marketing problem. And you need to fix it.

You don't fix your approval rating by changing the rating the system.

If she wants to be who she is - be who you are - but don't complain if you aren't making enough money on what you say and do. That's her choice.

How is a simple thumbs up or down better than a 5 star system?

Netflix has me figured out perfect, anything over 3-4 stars I am going to like for sure.

Now I'm just going to see a thumbs up?

This is stupid.

I th8nk will see how many thumbs up and down. Like 1850 up and 200 down.

That's actually a better metric.

I was under the impression that the current rating system was personalized to a degree. The rating it showed was affected by the types of things that you rated highly. You like science fiction and have watched/rated highly a lot of science fiction then science fiction movies would get a boost and science fiction movies rated highly by others would get an even bigger boost in your account. That might not be the way it worked, but that's how I thought it worked. That new way you are saying would take out the personalized aspect.

This bitch is so full of herself. I'm not advocating for her to die, but the world sure would be a better place without her

Totally agree, but if you watch the special you'll know the reviews are legit as frick

She mailed it in. She went up there and winged it for 45 minutes and it was pretty much just a bit of pity laughter despite the huge audience. I almost felt bad for her except Netflix and the people in the audience paid her for that

If she winged it...

Stab in the dark but I'm guessing she talked about the following for about 44 minutes...

1. Vag
2. Promiscuity
3. Vag promiscuity
4. Promiscuous vag and Skittles

5. Obama

What was the 1 minute of real jokes she talked about?

Two girls that got murdered going to see her movie Trainwreck, her poor choice of wearing leather, and her being a terrible famous person.

The criticism is justified. The jokes rarely landed and the crowd didn't laugh very much. It made it awkward just to watch.

It wasn't the alt-right, Amy, it was everyone. . .including your fans.

Should've called it " the jizz special" . That's all she talked about for the 15 minutes I stuck with it and it just got old.

Yup. Like some drunk person rambling at a bar. Comedians usually go all in on stand up specials but not her. She didn't write a damn thing. It was her just talking for 45 minutes. At a certain point my wife left and when she came back she said "oh my god, is she still talking?"

I made it about 10 minutes. It just wasn't that good. Unfortunately there just aren't many comics that are good after they make it big. Its a pretty small window and they tend to burn out pretty quick. There are lots of exceptions to that, but once they are rich and leading a celebrity life, they just can't connect with regular people anymore.

I love Kevin Hart and he carried it a long time. But even his past two specials were kind of flat. Its just really hard to keep up. Chappell talks about this all the time. He is tearing it up again, but he took years off and went through a whole bunch of shite. Thats what it takes..

Going to a binary rating system is bad. It gives consumers less information than the five-star system and is simply less useful. It was only a matter of time before they did this because Netflix now makes itself more Facebook-y, but it is still a bad system, regardless of why they are doing it.

As for Schumer, it can be two things. The special is okay, not great, not bad, but whatever. It could be getting some low ratings honestly. However, there IS a campaign to give her low ratings on reddit. Splitsider, the comedy website, found the threads:

LINK /

Also, the spread of the rating screams tampering. From the article: "33 subscribers gave it 5 stars, 17 gave it 4 stars, 22 gave it 3 three stars, 85 gave it 2 stars, 710 users give it 1 star, and 9 gave it zero stars." That's not how ratings normally distribute.

Though I'm not sure why people spend their effort trying to push down the ratings of entertainment. Who cares? These campaigns are common, but sort of pointless.

I am guilty of this. A few weeks back I rated it 1 Star without watching it. Still, I know 100% that I wouldn't like a single one of her jokes.

Frick that b!tch.

Why do they even let you rate it if you haven't watched it. At least with orginal Netflix content that is only airing on their service.
