Don't know what went on behind the scenes but they have renewed Timeless for a second season. 10 episodes that will air next summer.

Well that makes no sense.

Good. The show has a lot of promise. It's almost hilarious how PC they try to be, but it's still fun. I will enjoy having something decent that's not on HBO to watch this summer

I watched the first 3 episodes or so and thought it was terrible.

Agreed. They were really in a groove after the Lincoln episode.

Why was this the trendy "save this show" program that people have expressed faux outrage over when it was canceled? Was it basically because Abigail Spencer is pretty?

Well, of all of the shows that were cancelled after only one season, this was the only one I'd actually watched more than 2 episodes of. It seemed to have a lot of promise and its plot had far from run its course yet.
The only other show that I'm even a little upset about being cancelled is Last Man Standing, even though it's been in syndication a while and has basically run its course. I have suspicions that it was cancelled for political reasons due to the fact that it's literally the only sitcom on tv that is from a conservative point of view.
ETA: just saw Fox cancelled Son of Zorn. That actually makes me a little upset. Show was funny! Making History looked really funny, but I never caught an episode. I guess I never will now. Jubilant to see 2 Broke Girls finally cancelled.
