Friend,

A large popcorn, large drink combo at AMC is $19. Drinks include free refills of many different flavors and even Icees now. It is a whole new world with drinks at the theater.

If you are an AMC A-List member, the large combo runs $17 and you get 10% back in points during the week and 20% back in points on Wednesday. It equates to $15 for all you can eat popcorn and all you can drink Icees and soft drinks. A family of four could share this deal quite easily, making it very affordable. If that is too expensive for you, I have seen some people fish out large popcorn containers from the garbage bins to get a free refill.

$4 film Sunday is more evidence that movie theaters are experiencing their last days. With my A-List membership, my average film cost is $1.33 (15 films for $20/month). As I know theaters will not be around for the rest of my life, I am relishing these times, many of them in a completely empty theater. While a part of me enjoys the privacy, I mourn for what is coming -- the death of another communal space, all being replaced by Americans' desire to live isolated, lonely lives.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Based off the crowds last year, you are 100% spot on.

Am I missing something with the last sentence? 4x$4 = $16
