true, but the roughnecks didn't really need to know much astronaut stuff. just "don't mess with your suit" and "pee into the hose"

Your loss, is an incredible 13 episode journey, the best I've ever had.

Truth, and same here.

FOX should be ashamed of themselves, the Sarah Chronicle series went two seasons and Firefly went one?

Here's a list of series on FOX that went more seasons than Firefly:
The Wanda Sykes Show (2009–10)
Renovate My Family (2004–05)
Grounded for Life (2001–02)
The Ben Stiller Show (1992–93)
FreakyLinks (2000-01)
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (1993–94)
Joe Millionaire (2003–04)
Human Target (2010–11)

And I know its popular and some people like it, but Glee is still airing.

Why? Harry gave them his plans for a drilling space rig lonnnng before this. And they had been working on it...that's how he knew how to fix them.

Doh. Forgot Machine *Gun*.

Why is there natural gas on an asteroid?

Why is there ethanol in space? Methane is a naturally occurring gas that can be abiogenic and gets trapped in ice crystals. Once these melt, CH4 can be released.

Ethanol occurring in space is not the same as Methane. Methane can occur in other worlds due to abiotic processes yes but the name "Natural gas" implies Methane, Other Hydrocarbons, CO2, H2S and Nitrogen. I understand you can have a Methane "Blowout" but saying you have a Natural Gas blowout is another thing.

Why do they celebrate a blowout on the rig when in actuality the solution gas in that oil could have exploded and killed them all?

It was something exciting. It's Hollywood. The audience gets that motif.

We are laughing at an unrealistic movie. You can't defend some points as realistic then say this one is ok.

I like Armageddon and watch it when its on TV but some it's plot is a little realistic. I always tell my GR don't worry I'll volunteer to go and save the world. We can make 800 ft!

I always thought it was funny right before the meteor is about to cross the zero barrier, Colonel Willie Sharp says "we will go back and do it our self" in regards Stamper not activating the bomb yet. Now this is after the Freedom has already taken off and is several thousand miles away from where they crash landed.

So in the event that Stamper did not activate the bomb, Colonel Sharp was going to turn the Freedom around and somehow manage to land in the same spot they set up shop at. (Remember this thing is the size of Texas now) safely land the Freedom and activate the Nuke, all within a matter of about 28 seconds.

Too much cheez. Just too far over the top, it starts with that awful song and only gets worse. Really represents the ultimate 90s cheese fest
