This- was like 12 when it came out, and thought it was disappointing even then.

Oppenheimer.

i found it overly long and drawn out and maybe its because i didnt watch it on IMAX but it took me a couple viewings to finish and i was like 'meh'.

Superman (1978) - Should have been in my wheelhouse. I was 14 and enjoyed comic books as a younger kid. Except for Hackman and Beatty*, just found it cheesy as hell. Margot Kidder was too damned ugly to be Lois Lane. The whole "spin Earth the opposite way to turn back time" thing was beyond retarded. And there was something about Christopher Reeve that always hit me as slightly effeminate.

*Valerie Perrine was nice to look at

Saving Private Ryan

The first and last 30 minutes are excellent, but the middle 60-90 are a dreadful dumpster fire

Big Lebowski was my first thought for this thread as well.

Like someone said, I like it fine. But all of my friends LOVE it and it should've fit me perfectly, and I just thought it was meh. It's highly quotable at least, and I like that. I think ultimately it was just overhyped to me before I saw it.

this

i think the overhype (mainly on this board) for oppenheimer overshadowed the movie for me and looking back i think this is a regular occurrence.

but if its GOOD (like black sails) then the love on here can never do it justice.

but yes, stuff tends to get overhyped.

i heard so much about the 'red wedding' episode being a "banger" that by the time i got around to watching GoT (YEARS late to the game) i had so much anticipation for that episode and was left feeling extremely meh about it. in fact i kinda felt like i knew what was going to happen the entire time just based on the ep title alone. no drama, no suprise.

That’s exactly why I started this thread. I heard them talking about it on NPR this morning.

It does have a catchy song.

So just like OML did in the non-reader GOT threads. That fricking prick.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. I'm a big Tarantino fan, I should love it more than Death Proof as an example. You all claim it's a really good movie, but it was just okay to me.

The Goonies. I feel like I should have loved it as a kid but the first time I watched it I was 10 or so in the mid 90's and it was just meh. Just kept The Sandlot on repeat instead.

This is what I'm going to post. I'm halfway through and besides the bomb going off it's really not that interesting. There's just a ton of dialogue about physics and secrecy. Florence Pugh's tits are the most interesting bomb so far

For me it's Interstellar as well. Christopher Nolan. Mind bending sci-fi. Big themes. Etc., etc.

It was just vapid and I really hated the ending.
