'Four women doing any movie on earth will destroy your childhood?'

'I have a visual of those people not having a Ben, not having friends, so they’re just sitting there and spewing hate into this fake world of the internet. I just hope they find a friend,' she concluded.

What does this even mean?

Also, 'not having a Ben'?

What an idiot. People are pissed because they decided to take a gimmick route with a franchise that is classic.

If the trailer wasn't full of horrible cliche unfunny crap, it wouldn't have taken so much shite.

But sure... only folks without friends hate the trailer.

I have a visual that they stop re-creating classics or regurgitating ideas with run-of-the-mill actors & actresses.

Then I open my eyes and I see the list of the most popular movies of 2016

1). X-Men: Apocalypse - superhero movie
2). Captain America: Civil War - superhero movie
3). Deadpool - superhero movie
4). Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising - sequel
5). Assassin's Creed - video game
6). The Nice Guys - poor attempt at nostalgic comedy
7). Suicide Squad - superhero movie
8). The Angry Birds Movie - video game on an iphone
9). The Jungle Book - re-make
10). Money Monster - Clooney & Roberts (cRaZy)

The movie industry is in shambles

Oh come on, even before the cast was announced all the manboys have been crying about the new movie. If you're not interested in the movie, don't go see it and rent/buy the original to watch on release night. I don't think the trailers look good but I'll go see it because I love the franchise.

Them crying before the trailer came out doesn't mean they weren't vindicated when the shitty trailer came out.

They went with a stupid gimmick instead of actually writing a good script or so it appears from the terrible trailer.

It would make better sense if the OP didn't link to a story quoting another story about McCarthy. LINK She's talking about her husband Ben Falcone.

Yeah, those Ackroyd Ghostbusters 3 scripts would've been hilarious Ghostbusters 3 never came about because Murray never wanted to do it. Why don't fans of the franchise get pissed at him?

yes, before an all-female cast was announced

then people got mad that they were going that route b/c (1) it probably meant a hack story and (2) the story will have all sorts of cheap jokes related to the "all female" gimmick

THEN there was a lot of anger when the cast was announced (With 2 of the 4 females being gimmick actresses)

THEN the trailer was announced and everyone saw a trailer for a shitty movie with shitty jokes and a shitty setup. all the fears were realized and people were like "ish don't think so"

While there are a bunch of idiots who hate on this movie just from the fact that 4 women are in it, the trailers have looked horrible and now it seems the cast and crew are pretending everyone in the world is sexist when it reality it appears they just made a bad movie.

Bridesmaids was funny. No one had a problem with it.

Hell I didn't have a problem with this movie until they announced the Leslie Jones casting.

Leslie Jones screaming her lines into the camera ruined the entire movie trailer.

The previews weren't even that bad until she showed up.

Wiig and McKinnon I'm sure wouldve been fine. Wiig has proven she's a solid comedy casting choice, McKinnon is hilarious on SNL and I was interested to see her debut on the big screen. McCarthy has been in some funny movies. Spy, Identity Theft, and Bridesmaids were all funny. When she's not going full out little fatty doodoo fall down she can be a solid secondary character.

And then there's fricking Leslie Jones. Leslie Jones has never once done anything worth mentioning in her life. And I refuse to support anything she's in. "I don't know if it's a race thang o a lady thang but I'm mad as hell".

For some reason she gets all the skits on SNL, Zamata gets nothing. And now she stealing roles in films from other talented and funny black actresses and comedians. frick her.

Most people don't have a problem with the movie being a remake, they have a problem with the marketing, some of the cast, and the director.

This fat bitch needs to get off her high horse before she breaks it's back.

That is all.

Goodday.

Heck, my main problem is that it is a reboot. Why the heck didn't they just continue to the story? Why the need to wipe out the old movies yet at the same time MENTION the old movies in the trailers.

While not keen on the all women gimmick if Leslie Jones had been left out of the trailer, they might have tricked me into seeing the film. The LJ scene is so horrible I will not see this movie. Won't happen. Not even for free on the internet.

To be fair, the cast has said they don't understand the marketing themselves as this doesn't make sense to any of them and kind of ruins the trailer.

This movie is going to be like a one night stand at half mast pushing rope with a fat chick.

Unfortunately, I will watch it one night when it's real late and I'm bored and drunk, I know I will. And the worst part is i'll enjoy some of it, not all of it, and definitely hate some parts, but I'll enjoy some of it, sure, and hate myself for it. And I'll never mention it again. But deep down I'll know.

Just like the movie Pixels.

Any movie? No. And it's not destroying my childhood either. But it does make me sad for what Hollywood is producing en masse for women in lead roles.

I hate that she's trying to turn any valid criticism of this movie into a "well you hate women if you hate this". No, I hate the trend of "well let's just make this cast all (fill in opposite sex, race, etc) to make it NEW" instead of producing original material (even if it comes from source material like a book or comic).
