Anyone else watch the first Episode last night. I think this is going to be a hit. I found it reeling me in very early, it would be a spoiler to explain why I think that at this point. If you didn't get a chance to watch do yourself a favor and get on the bus.

With this and The Nevers my Sunday nights are booked for the foreseeable future.

Just watched the first episode.

Classic first episode setup with a end.

I will watch the next one.

Definitely saw it coming, but really bothered me. I had developed an attachment. IMO it definitely wasn't deserved.

Indeed, really enjoying the acting in both so far.

They did a great job of creating sympathy for the victim. The entire episode I just kept saying to myself, damn that poor girl lol

Really sad clearly she was in a bad situation and trying to be the best mom she could be and definitely loved her son. And you know there is no way baby daddy and trashy new girl friend did it even if that's the direction they go the next episode or two.

I just realized that Roy from the office was Mare’s ex-husband.

Anybody know who Drew's mother is? Not sure if I missed it or they didn't say.

They haven't mentioned it yet. I'm also interested to know how the son passed away.

This article has a slide show with a short bio on all the characters that hints at it. The last one is of the son.

We watched last night and this is going to be good. Wife didn't like that she didn't really have a PA accent but meh. Man Guy Pearce's appearance took me by surprise

I think she showed up in the trailer for the season, yelling at the sheriff on her front door about how "he's my son!" I didn't recognize her, but it was quick.

ETA: Show seems like it's going to be really sad. Every character is just...sad, and I honestly can't say I like any of these people outside of maybe the author. Hopefully that lends itself to a good redemption arc of some sort.

I think a big part of that was a device to quickly develop sympathy for the victim in a fairly short time frame. I would fully expect to see a more sympathetic side of some of the characters moving forward. You already saw hints of it with Mare (putting up the new poster, being compassionate to the addict brother, comforting her grandson in bed at the end).

I have to say, I know nothing of the plot but if Guy Pearce is in it, he's the bad guy
