When I first saw the trailer at the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises, I immediately thought of Terrence Malick. Don't know why.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the score from the film isn't ready. I also don't think John Williams's score from the original Superman movie would work with this trailer.

After watching it, I have to agree that it is extremely "meh." the one they showed at ComicCon was 100 times better.

They couldnt put together something for the trailer, I mean, it's like a minute long. It's kind of bush league to use another movies music IMO. I did like the Costner voice over though.

They do this in trailers all of the time, more so in teaser trailers. Case in point, Sunshine uses Requiem for a Dream's music. And Sunshine had quite an amazing soundtrack that has been used in other movies such as Kick-arse.

I saw TDKR today and was anxious to see the Man of Steel trailer. But that wasn't a trailer, it was just a teaser.

I know next to nothing about this movie but what I've gathered from the forums is that the story is about Clark choosing to become Superman. While he's all-powerful he lives in the shadows because he's afraid the world won't understand who he is and where he comes from. He's afraid that they will fear him even though all he wants to do is co-exist and be 'human.'
And I was very pleased to find out that the villain in this movie is extraterrestrial in nature and is not someone from Earth like Lex Luthor.

10 bucks says that fishing boat capsizes, and Supes saves the day by just hauling it off the water and back to land.
