A welcome return to form from 'The Sixth Sense' director M. Night Shyamalan, whose unhinged new mind-bender is a worthy extension of his early work.

'Split' is thrilling in the moment but bungles the final stretch in a way that invalidates its arcs and subtexts.

The director ties themes together at the end with more finesse than usual, letting a couple of meaningful visuals speak for themselves where he might have thrown in a line or two of explanatory dialogue.

Can't believe I'm somewhat looking forward to an M. Night Shyamalan movie again.

I don't think I can ever forgive him for The Last Airbender

Yeah, that's the worst non-comedy I've ever seen. He won't ever get my forgiveness for that one, which why I'm hesitant to just not rip it off from a torrent site instead.

I've been wanting to see this but I fully expect the big reveal at the end to be disappointing, as all of his have been lately.

The story has real potential. And apparently M. Night stayed away from the weird twist at the end of this one.

Even the rotten reviews talk about how great McAvoys performance is. That alone would probably get me in.

I dont think theres a twist but theres a "surprise cameo"

You can thank James McAvoy for that.

This has the feel of a movie neutered by its PG-13 ratings.

Maybe but M.Night has never been one to employ gratuitious violence in his movies.

Well, there was The Happening which was R-rated but I never saw it

I read the "twist" on IMDB. Meh, think I'll pass on this

Even the negative reviews sound promising.

This is as straightforward a thriller as M. Night Shyamalan has delivered in years, and that works both to its advantage and detriment.

I heard someone call it a "thematic sequel" to Unbreakable, and get the feeling that McAvoys character is based on what Shyamalan had in mind for a villain in Unbreakable 2.

I'm interested in seeing this one, but will probably wait for HBO or Netflix
