I'm not so sure about this though, if they all end up back on the plane, they may have no memory of what has already happened because their memory will also be reset. I'm not sure if I'm missing a loophole or something, but I think they would go back to normal time like nothing had ever happened.
Thoughts?

If we take The Dark Tower as a reference (and we should, as Lindelof routinely names it as a source), then no, things won't be COMPLETELY reset -- there will be subtle changes that will perhaps give them the possibility of winning/achieving the happy ending during the next 'go around'. While they won't remember anything, there will exist something in this 'new' iteration that could help the white team 'win', like the horn from The Dark Tower. Perhaps The Island doesn't cure Locke's paralysis this time, for example.

I'd smash both fwiw. What if you could have a threesome with the same person at 2 different ages?
why not a foursome with all 3 ages?

Anyone see the irony is the episode?

Ben = Ultimate manipulator

Ben = Get ultimately manipulated

The entire time he believes he is manipulating others HE is being manipulated.

It's still Jack's eyes. Eye color the same and the eyelashes are the same. The camera just isn't in the exact same spot/lighting.

The one problem I have with that theory is the fact that the people that died may have to come back and I don't see them being able to assemble the folks from the original cast the have been gone for a while. Although Lost could make it that those people are dead....and of course dead is dead. So who knows

That AND Walt would be 9 foot tall.

Next season will start how the pilot started with Jack waking up in the forest, no clue where they will go from there though.

just got caught up on the episode as well as the thread. a few things i havent read anything about.

anyone think jack was talking about juliet when he said "i had her.." to sawyer? i guess it really doesnt make a difference, but anyways.

i loved the ending with ben and jacob. i think ben was kept away from jacob so that the decision to kill/not kill jacob wouldnt be influenced by any previous relationship between them.

my dvr cut off right at the credits. what did the sneak peak show and is it really one year away?

also, i read a lot about resetting the "game". i guess i missed something. could someone explain that?

Matthew Fox said last night on Jimmy Kimmel that he has known what the very last frame of Lost is for about a year. JJ or Damon/Carleton told him.

Would the last frame of Lost be a mirror of the very first of the pilot?

PS - anyone else get a Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi feel during the Incident? Felt like Luke getting pelted with flying debris in his battle with Darth in Empire. And then Juliet getting sucked down the hole felt like that scene in Return of Jedi when Jabba was putting them in the sand moster thing.

No preview so you didn't miss anything and all it said was next season would be in 2010.

Just watched the last episode. Man that was wild. I'm thinking that the bomb didn't workd since Richard said "they died" when Sun asked him.

Yeah, if you take just a quick glance I looks like Bens but if you really look, the eye lashes are exactly the same.

This would presume that Richard was either complicit with Jacob (who anticipated this moment) or NotLocke (who also saw it coming).
