Just noticed that season 3 is out on Netflix now. Guess I'll have to work it in somewhere between Yellowstone and Hannah.

I just finished a rewatch of season 1 and 2. My wife and kids didn’t see it the first time, so I told them it would be a good evening family show for us to watch. They all really liked it. Can’t wait to start season 3 this evening.

Crap, I had no idea. I enjoyed both seasons.

I just watched the first 2 seasons a few weeks ago. I was surprised at how good it is because nobody talks about it. Look forward to the new season.

I have to go back and rewatch the first two seasons. Oh, and Molly Parker is turning into a fine wine. She is going to be 50 next year. Crazy.

I watched the first few episodes last night. The recap at the beginning of the first episode was extremely well done. It gave a superb overview of where the story had left off AND how it got there.

***SMALL SPOILER***

The creatures that ate rocks were just a bit much. I get wanting some drama involved but not only was it telegraphing the drama but it was really unnecessary considering the danger of the climb itself.

The rest has been well done.

I didn’t realize this was out. I may have to temporarily renew my Netflix for this, as we enjoy watching this show as a family.

Simple question.

Is this a remake of that hokey 60's series or an entirely new series with a different story line and, hopefully, much better acting?

I'm certain the special effects will be a hell of a lot better than back then for sure.

Oh, and I hated that show back in the 60's.

Definitely. All of the episodes come across as a big-budget movie to me.

1960's...2021

Gee I wonder how far special effects have come?

I can't.

Yes, to all of the above. One big difference is that the 60's show was episodic (meaning no real order to the episodes, each episode was pretty much its own story) as that was the standard back then. This is more of a series where it's telling stories in arcs which can cover an entire season (or seasons).

The new Dr. Smith is quite a bit different from the original, making the character far more interesting.

It’s pretty much an entirely different story that shares certain elements of the original. The new series shares some of the same characters (specifically the Robinson family, Dr. Smith, and the “robot”) but the plot and backstory are considerably different.

More of a “re-imagining” than a “remake.” It’s a modern sci-fi show. It does focus heavily on the Robinsons’ family dynamics but I wouldn’t call it hokey. And yes, the special effects are a lot better.

I just finished up and liked it alot. The robots were badass and really well done. Everything was prety much wrapped up, so I'm guessing that's the final season.

I’m 3-4 episodes in, and I’m with you. I didn’t make it 5 minutes into the S3E1 before pausing to read a couple of season 1/2 recaps.

That said, so far so good. I think anyone who liked the first 2 seasons should like this one as well.

1/2 way through season 3.

Watching the series can be exhausting with all of the stress and suspense. The cast goes from one life and death situation to another.

I think that's probably my only big complaint. There's little ebb and flow, they crank the danger up and leave it there for most of an episode with almost everything happening within that.

Does the robot still say "danger Will Robinson" like he did in the original series?
