Could there in any way ever be some kind of mass resurrection of Westeros soldiers/people during the looming fight with the White Walkers. Being as it is the song of ice and fire the Walkers (ice) can raise the dead by way of zombies, but can't the Red Priests and Priestesses (fire) essentially do the same thing?

There is a reason Martin and the show have made so many Lord of Light connections in this world. Could this possibly be another layer in the story or am I just nuts?

P.S.

I only bring this theory up because I had a dream last night that this happens in the show.

The Red Priests aren't nearly as successful at resurrection as the Others.

Never thought about it, but it's possible. Maybe they have similar magic to the Others, theirs just focuses on Fire and not Ice.

Not a bad crackpot theory.

However, according to the wisdom in the books, the only reason the red priests have any magical power is because Dragons have been reintroduced to the world. So I guess as long a the dragons are alive and well, it is possible.

This leads to the theory that there are no gods at all. Its all just magic and everyone is fighting behind the scenes for control of the dragons and the source of the magic.

And weren't the Others disappeared for thousands of years. Maybe it's all pulling from the same magic, force, whatever. The Walkers became much stronger and known basically the same time the dragons reappeared and the Lord of Light Clergy became stronger too. Could all the same power just opposite sides of the coin.

I get the dragons might be bringing back magic but how do you explain Melisandra being that old? I feel like her magic was around before the dragons were born.

Others spottings/rumblings had been getting louder for a while for the NW, before the start of the series.

It said somewhere she was like 400 years old but the dragons are way older than that.

Based on some book wisdom, her disguise is due to her talent as an illusionist, which is not necessarily "magic".

My understanding is that magic never disappeared completely, but was very weak. Either due to dragons, winter returning, or some other event magic is growing. I don't think dragons are the cause of magic, but are magic. Obviously the dragon eggs had to be very old, but needed more magic in the world in order to hatch.

I really think the Children are much more malicious in the books than we've been shown on the show. Yes they created the Others, but I think they also reawoke them using Bloodraven to do so, and plan on further exploiting Bran. There is just something really, really off about them in the books that is not present in the show.

Hence Bloodraven's involvement.
