The problem is they've spent way too much time on advancing plot lately (Dunder Mifflin's troubles and subsequent buyout), and less time on what made the show in the first place: mundane, everyday office life.
They obviously got Jim and Pam together too quickly (see "Moonlighting" and many others), and the pregnancy thing just makes no sense. Now, they're trying to compensate with Andy and Erin.
Plus, the squandered a good opportunity tonight with Michael and Jim switching places. Rather than drawing that out for a few episodes, it lasted all of ten minutes.
It's almost as if the writers don't know what they're doing anymore.

This season has sucked, but I thought tonight's episode was funny.

Never know what kind of opinions you're going get here mayne. I posted what I thought was a mildly humorous comment about Pawn Stars and got blasted by a couple of Sean Hannity-wannabe douchebags trying to teach me micro-economic theory in 30 seconds. Whatev.
I think most hardcore Office fans agree that the heart of the show was meant to be told in 2 or 3 seasons, but NBC is sucking it to death. The actors and writers aren't even trying anymore. Time for BJ Novak to move out and get a job.

ed zachary.
stay IN the office and focus on the everyday ridiculousness and develop the humor of the core characters.

Yeah I was excited to see Michael as a "normal" salesman, but they only went with it for a few minutes.
They should have left Jim as manager for a few episodes.

I completely agree with the Pam/Jim thing. The show went downhill when they got together. Pam became kinda a bitch and Jim became more of a dick when he got some power.

It was easy to see the Jim being a dick coming since the "Survivorman" episode which until this season was the worst episode of the show.
This week was much better, but I just don't see an end game scenario I guess. I thought it would end with Pam and Jim, and I could seriously care less about Andy and what's her face.

every week someone posts the episode teaser and it always sounds like it has promise.
and every week, it's a letdown.
i can watch season 2 episodes all day long during the TBS office rerun hours, but any season past 2 has been a total disappointment.

I thought tonight's episode was pretty good. Dwight not standing and telling her why; Jim putting Dwight's tie in his coffee; Michael having a humidifier and a dehumidifier under his desk; Meredith telling Andy that if she had gotten that card they would be doing it right now.
The one thing I wish they would have dragged out more was Kelly obsessing over Andy. She is crazy and I find it funny when she makes guys miserable.

"Take out your suckit and suck it was pretty funny"
I thought that was going to make this season awesome, then they switched back.

season 3???
I liked the new cast members!!
2 is the best no doubt, but I thought 3 was great, 4 was alright, and 5 was barely good enough to buy on DVD
