"Live Free or Die Hard" sucked. Are the previous installments worth watching?

In most cases, sequels tend to get worse, especially on the latter end.
I've one of the few people who has never seen DieHard or the other sequels besides the most recent one. My concern is that it may be dated.

Die Hard is a great Christmas movie. Perfect time of year to watch.

It wasn't bad for a popcorn movie flick outside of the harrier jet scene. In the end, it's not really a Die Hard movie. They just shoehorned John McClane in there.
Would've been great to get a true installment that followed the original Die Hard trilogy storyline 20+ years later.

Is that the last Die Hard? It was awful. One of the worst movies I've seen. I wanted to walk out but wife "wanted to see how it ends"

Die Hard is easily a top three all time action movie. Stop what you're doing and watch it right now. Die Hard With A Vengeance is really good too.
