Let’s discuss the metaphysical horror that is Freddy Krueger

Netflix has all of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies and I’ve been watching the first 3.
It is apparent that Freddy is far and away the most dangerous of all the 80s horror villains.
Michael and Jason are physically defeatable, especially in reality. In reality, they could be physically stopped/restrained.
Despite the “methods” they use to defeat him in the movies, Freddy is a metaphysical concept with a personality.
He can’t be defeated.
Go beyond those major three.
Xenomorphs - can be physically destroyed
Cenobites - trapped as long as you don’t interact with the cube (essentially)
Chucky - probably the easiest to destroy
Freddy doesn’t fit the bill.
That is the only flaw of the movies. There is some contrived method of beating Freddy.
In the 1st one, Nancy sets up multiple traps for Freddy in 20 mins, including a tripwire activated sledgehammer.
It “works” and then as the movie ends, it really doesn’t.
Freddy is the greatest of the 80s horror villains, and likely the most powerful of all horror villains.
Freddy would destroy every other horror villain, at least the 80s ones.
(Freddy vs Jason was a sham and Freddy was cheated)

Not Freddy's Dead. I added them all recently too.

Huge horror fan, but never got into Freddy too much.
I know this maybe sacrilege, but I kind of liked the remake they did with Jackie Earl Haley.
