It's good. A bit too depressing of an atmosphere for what the movie was trying to be if I answer honestly. I'm probably not describing it well but I feel like the great horror movies of the 70s and 80s had characters that were vibrant and when they encountered the horror, they played off each other. It's a style thing too. Idk

I think it's one of the better movies that I have seen in the last few years. Beautifully shot. The, I guess, homage to the classic horror movie cautionary tale about teenage recklessness and sex set its place amongst the classics of the genre, along with some of the new stuff it brought. You can tell mixing old with new is a major theme of the movie with even the set pieces. I really like how they use the Dostoyevsky quotes from The Idiot in it. The history behind it is pretty cool.

May be in the minority in this board, but this movie didn't do much for me in term of being a horror/scary/creepy movie or whatever u wanna call it

Thought The Witch was much better

I saw it in theaters late at night by myself. I was looking over my shoulder when I walked back to my car.

Yeah I didn't like this movie. The ending was especially lame and I didn't find it creepy other than the rape scene. I also enjoyed the Witch and Neon Demon as well.

It wasn't so much the content being scary for me as the fact that the thing is absolutely relentless, even if it is slow. The use of sound to provide tension throughout was brilliant as well.

I think it's super overrated. Not creepy at all, and way too slow.

I love the originality of it. It's not a cookie cutter horror flick.

I love the creepy 80's movie vibe of the whole thing.

It was good but not great. And it's pretty overrated on this board IMO.

It's pretty good. That's about what I'd rate it.

The score was very reminiscent of Halloween in its feel.

Funny, I just watched this yesterday afternoon randomly. It was a solid flick. Not particularly scary, but solid.

Which for a horror movie elevates to the top 5% of the genre...

It was a good movie, in the horror genre, it was excellent. Considering maybe 2 or 3 every few years have any watchability at all.

I thought there was way too much 80s electronica music and too little dialogue. Didn't like the movie but the whole evil STD that follows you idea was cool.
