2. Titanic ($658,672,302)
3. The Avengers ($623,357,910)
4. The Dark Knight ($534,858,444)

I liken it to Avatar. It was impressive at the theater but not so much after I thought about it.

Glad they are doing well though.

Titanic is still more impressive.

But it's got dinosaurs, so kids will see it 15 times each.

Kind of like lonely women and Titanic.

No doubt. I think that film opened with 30 million it's first weekend. To end up finishing over 600 million is unreal.

I'll also add that adjusted for inflation, Gone with the wind would be at $1,640,602,363

That list is insanely depressing.

It had the steadiest legs of any movie I have ever seen.

Week 1: 28 million
Week 2: 35 million
Week 3: 28 million
Week 4: 30 million
Week 5: 36 million
Week 6: 25 million
Week 7: 25 million
Week 8: 23 million
Week 9: 28 million
Week 10: 32 million
Week 11: 21 million
Week 12: 19 million
Week 13: 17 million
Week 14: 17 million
Week 15: 17 million
Week 16: 15 million
Week 17: 11 million

It didn't drop below 10 million until Week 18 and spent 17-straight weeks atop the box office. From December 19,1997-April 3,1998. A record that I don't think will be broken anytime soon.

Chris Pratt went from a supporting (but hilarious) part on Parks and Rec to a guy who can basically choose any script he wants for the foreseeable future.

Dudes having a great year.

I find interesting the people who say that Titanic was a polished terd but Jurassic World was a fun-filled great movie that deserves many sequels. Jurassic World defines polished terd. The movie had no real substance except for the special effects and Chris Pratt's performance.

Jurassic Park was a movie with substance. In addition to groundbreaking CGI it introduced, it also had a several great characters (Dr. Ian Malcolm, John Hammond, Robert Muldoon), a great story, and built awesome suspense leading up to the T-Rex scene.
